New Fragrances the Harrods Beauty Editors Are Loving
New beauty items are constantly dropping on the Harrods Beauty team’s desks. One of the categories that is sure to get a conversation (or debate) going is fragrances. Much like the team’s skincare choices and make-up preferences, everyone’s taste is different when it comes to the world of scents – some rave over an oud sensation, others gravitate towards a light and airy aroma. That’s why we’ve gathered insight on the team’s latest summer fragrance favourites, so you can find a new olfactory blend that resonates with you.
“Armani's latest Privé scent has quickly cemented itself in my fragrance wardrobe as this season's hit. It's a bright floral scent at its heart – my kryptonite – with white jasmine and lemon all wrapped in layers of warming musk. To me, it smells like settling down on a Sunday afternoon in a sliver of afternoon sunlight wearing your favourite cashmere jumper: the epitome of quiet luxury. And I must mention the flacon, which is a piece of art in itself, inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi: the art of showcasing imperfections by fixing broken pottery pieces back together with gold.”
“This is summer in a bottle. Bright, sweet, fun and playful – Jusbox’s Carioca Heart marries gourmand notes of rum, pineapple and mango alongside sandalwood and vanilla for a smooth yet vibrant finish on your skin. Closing your eyes on first spritz, you can almost imagine lying poolside at an idyllic destination cut off from the rest of the world. It’s a scent that lingers sweetly in the air and a blend you'll be reaching for as a top-up throughout the day, it’s that intoxicating.”
“Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Reflets d’ambre is such a beautifully complex fragrance. It exudes a certain mystery and nostalgia that I can’t quite place. That depth continues as it wears throughout the day, flitting between warm and sensual, then light and airy. When the day calls for an air of sophistication, this is the fragrance I’ll be grabbing.”
“At first spritz, Diptyque’s Do Son instantly awakens my excitement for warmer weather. It’s as if the beautifully illustrated sailboat on the bottle acts as transport, whisking me away from my desk to a tropical beach during sunset. For me, this is the ideal transitional fragrance for day-to-night, as it has a sun cream type of aroma, yet steadily trailing behind is a darker, velvety warmth. White floral is an accord loved and worn by my mum, so this particular fragrance also brings me a feeling of familiarity and comfort.”
“With spring well underway, I can't wait to start spritzing Perseus from Parfums de Marly. Its sparkling citrus notes are just what I need for a refreshing start to the morning and it’s long-lasting – a huge plus. The vibrant bottle coupled with its grapefruit and bergamot blend is just the little bit of sunshine we’ve all been waiting for!”
