The Harrods Guide to Flexform Sofas
Choosing a sofa is no easy feat. The focal point in a room, it will set the mood, anchor other furniture and, most importantly, provide a space to sink into after a long day. Our golden rule? Opt for quality and versatility – both of which you’ll find in Flexform's collection of sectional sofas.
Composed of modular pieces, the Italian brand’s timeless designs have it all: plenty of seating for hosting, adaptable styles for changing home décor, and lots of room for reclining in pure comfort. Read on for our edit of Flexform’s best sectional sofas – available in-store and online via our Personal Shopping service.
Best for Design: Groundpiece
It’s 21 years since architect Antonio Citterio designed Flexform’s Groundpiece sofa – and it remains the brand's most popular design. Altering then-classic proportions, Citterio took the sofa off its legs, introduced low and deep seats with amply sized goose-down cushions, and added optional cowhide-clad shelving systems to replace armrests. Suddenly, the sofa became an architectural centrepiece, all the while offering greater flexibility and comfort.
The aptly named Soft Dream rises off the floor like a cloud on elegant cast-metal feet. Resting atop the cowhide base are soft, generously filled goose-down cushions – perfect for sinking into for a Sunday afternoon nap. What’s more, the versatile seating system is available in multiple configurations, including varying height and depth armrests, so you can tailor it to individual preferences.
Balanced proportions. Countless combinations. Hand-crafted details. The Harper is the pinnacle of understated elegance. Its padded structure is offset by saddle-hide-clad armrests which – like the Groundpiece – are perfect for storing throws, remotes and books. It’s just as beautiful from the side and the back, making it ideal for positioning in the centre of the room.
Best for Comfort: Asolo
A cosy place to unwind after a long day, the Asolo sofa is a cluster of large, crushproof cushions filled with blown polyester and goose down. Devoid of sharp corners, the sofa's streamlined silhouette is complemented by its distinctive armrest with an elegant pleat.
A real eye-catcher, the Gregory features an exposed metal base with vertical leather straps, making for a rich interplay of colour and texture, while the goose-down backrest and bolster cushions promise utmost comfort. Naturally, made up of modular units (now available in large options), they can be arranged and rearranged to fit different spaces.
