MEET THE TEAM

Mia Monasingh-Brown

Senior Designer

Mia Monasingh-Brown
“Every project is an opportunity to tell a different story.”

Mia exudes calm and positivity, no doubt helped by her daily dose of yoga. Intrigued by the power of storytelling through interiors, she applies her practical skills and keen eye for detail to create visually arresting concepts that embody her clients’ personalities. She loves to learn and is always open to new ideas, both inside and outside work.

Interior Motives

What sparked your passion for design?
When I was younger, I was endlessly reconfiguring my bedroom. My parents always had a creative project on the go, from renovating properties to building furniture for doll’s houses – and I’d always assist!

How would you describe your personal style?
Contemporary with a playful edge. I love combining a neutral palette and clean lines with sculptural forms and rich materials. I enjoy adding moments of bold colour, texture and eclecticism through furniture and accessories to create depth and personality.

If you had to pick one design element to invest in, what would it be?
Artwork. It’s an opportunity to add another dimension and layer of imagination to interiors.

Who or what inspires you?
While studying, I became hugely inspired by the Modernist era, particularly the work of pioneer Mies van der Rohe. The Barcelona Pavilion has been close to my heart ever since! More recently, I have been inspired by the work of designers Joseph Dirand and Kelly Wearstler. Fashion and travelling also spark my imagination.

What’s your favourite part of the creative process?
I love that every project is an opportunity to tell a different story. So for me, the initial stages of any project are an exciting time to immerse myself and create a unique narrative.
